By the time I recorded the songs for "Isle of the Dead", I had abandoned my solo project ATTAKKR by kicking myself out of the band haha. Actually for various reasons I felt that ATTAKKR had served its purpose and it was time to move on. And yet I still had some similar ideas and inspiration, so this album could almost be considered another ATTAKKR release as the material is definitely in the same vein. I had a theremin that my girlfriend had gotten me for my 30th birthday, and I used it a lot. Besides my experimental music projects I was also a member of an improv comedy group's backing band and performed many live shows in LA and even a few in NYC. Anyways I recorded these songs using Garageband on my MacBook and it was another self-released CD-R that was hand-numbered, again I'm not sure how many I made I would need to check. The title "Isle of the Dead" is the name of a 1940's horror film produced by the great Val Lewton. ~Horus
