jetsandrain Perfect mix of aggression and atmosphere. Keyboard BM done right. Favorite track: Fait Accompli.

bcmerchant Great. I file this in my head as 'Stranger Things black metal' and I mean that 100% positively. The synths, the atmosphere, the drone; one album where you can't really pick a single track, you have to go along for the whole ride, and you shall be glad, ye intrepid listener, that you did. Favorite track: La Ferita (The Wound).

Turd Ferguson I've been eagerly awaiting this release for a while now, and it does not disappoint. Everything I love about Moonknight is here and then some! Possibly his most majestic output to date. Excellent work. Favorite track: The Last Chrysanthemum.

Back Off Warchild. Seriously.

Back Off Warchild. Seriously. This is an insanely good album. A perfect blend of styles that create something unique. Favorite track: Antiarchitect.

dagoniel a moody and secretly epic journey through dark canyons and fog-wet mountain tops. dungeon synth and marching thrash beats melt perfectly into moonknight's wrenching depressive black metal. it's been on repeat all morning.

about

After releasing "Discernment" in 2019, I felt there were more ideas left to explore, as the expanded use of keyboards gave me a whole new sonic palette to work with. "L'Eclisse" literally picks up where "Discernment" left off; I used the same project template and instrument settings, and approached the writing and arrangements the same way. It was a great challenge, like a giant jigsaw puzzle that kept shifting and evolving, but it was also enormously satisfying to map out the peaks and valleys across the broader canvas of a full-length album.
